We highly recommend adding an extra 10-15% allowance on top of the amount that is required for your project. This will be inevitable for cuts and wastage in order for you to complete your project. You can order any additional slabs as a top-up to your order in the event our pack sizes to not meet your requirements. What does calibrated mean?

Calibration on natural stone means the underside/laying side of the slabs has been processed through a machine to be levelled which provides an easier installation process.

Whats the difference between sawn and chiselled edge?

Sawn Edge is a Machine cut giving it nice straight edges for a very modern and contemporary look, Chisel Edge is hand dressed or a more natural looking patio.

Do you have a laying guide?

Please click here for a laying guide. Due to each patio area being a bespoke project, we ask for you to take our guides as a reference basis only.

Do I need to seal porcelain?

As porcelain is a man-made product, Porcelain is an incredibly versatile material, renowned for its stain resistance and durability.  Unlike natural stone which is routinely sealed, porcelain often doesn’t require any protection.

Do I need to seal natural stone?

Natural Stone is porous and will absorb liquid from anything left on the surface, such as muddy paw prints, grease stains from a BBQ, wet leaves, bird droppings and moss. All of these can leave stains and once anything has set into the surface of your stone, removing it will be more difficult. Sealing paving will help to prevent staining, as well as the build-up of any excess moisture, and will also help prevent frost damage. Please click here to look at our sealing range

Is Natural Stone faulty?

The answer is no. As natural stone slabs come from the quarries in India, and is a natural element from the ground, the stone cannot be faulty. Natural imperfections such as iron deposits, veining and markings are to be expected within natural stone.

Can I pick and choose what colours I want for my order?

Most natural stone will have a colour variation and no two slabs are the same. The crates are packed before imported from India therefore we do not provide a picking process with an even number of tones. We recommend dry laying the slabs before installation to ensure you have an even coverage of tone through your patio area.

I have just received my pack of Raj Green Sandstone, the colour is grey, why is this?

The slabs are gone through a cutting/machine process to allow for the calibration. This will mean the small dust particles can be seen on the surface of the slabs. This can cause the slabs to look neutral or grey. This IS to be expected within Raj Green Sandstone. We recommend wetting the slabs to ensure you can see the colour variation before installing.
