Waste and Damages
Practical advice on ordering allowances, checking paving and reporting concerns.
Ordering the right quantity
Why we recommend extra paving
We recommend ordering approximately 10% extra for cutting, selection and minor handling damage. Some natural stone, including limestone, may benefit from an allowance of around 15%.
Your rights are protected
The recommended allowance is not a limit on your statutory rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.
Checking your delivery
Please inspect the paving and packaging as soon as possible after delivery.
Take clear photographs of the goods, affected slabs and packaging, keeping your order number handy.
Please aim to report damage or shortages within 72 hours to support@naturalpavingstore.co.uk. This requested timeframe does not remove your statutory rights.
Before installation
Check colour, texture, dimensions, finish and visible damage before laying. Natural stone can vary in colour and texture, while porcelain batches may differ. If something concerns you, contact us before installation wherever possible.
Can I claim if fewer than 10% of slabs are affected?
We review concerns on their merits. The 10% recommendation is for planning and does not automatically exclude claims relating to faulty goods.
Natural stone and outdoor paving characteristics
Sandstone, limestone, slate and granite may display riven texture, veins, bedding planes, fossils, fissures, natural colour variation and minor edge irregularities. Photographs and samples are guides, and quarry sources, lighting and production batches may affect appearance. Outdoor paving may develop efflorescence, wet-weather darkening, weathering and organic growth. These are assessed on their merits and do not remove statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods. Check materials and porcelain batch codes before laying; dry-lay and mix natural stone from multiple packs.
