ย

Returns

You must notify us within 14 days from the delivery date if you wish to return your order. We accept returns for full, unopened crates or unopened accessories during this period. However, made-to-measure orders, split packs, loose slabs, and clearance items are non-returnable.

ย

We offer split packs for all types of paving, including porcelain, sandstone, slate, and granite. This allows you to purchase only the specific amount you need, avoiding the waste associated with buying a full pack.

ย

We strongly recommend adding an allowance of 10% extra coverage to account for cuts, breakages, and spares when ordering our split packs.

ย

Delivery costs for split packs are the same as those for full packs, regardless of the quantity ordered. Any delivery fees will be calculated at checkout.

ย

To facilitate a seamless and secure shipping process, a handling and packing fee of ยฃ85.00 will be applied at checkout. This fee is essential as it covers the necessary procedures of unpacking the items from the original crate, re-packaging them onto a new pallet, and ensuring they are securely wrapped for dispatch.

Payment options.

We accept most major credit and debit cards, including American Express. All payments are processed through our online STRIPE system at the end of your ordering process.

ย

We also offer PayPal services, including the option to pay in three monthly installments.

ย

To enhance security, if you place an order by phone, an invoice will be sent to your email address for payment completion.

Measurement

Make sure you measure from the longest point to the longest point, side to side and front to back. Use our coverage calculator to help you know what your requirement coverage is.

Add 10% Extra

The recommended industry standard is that you add 10% extra to your total measurements to allow for cuts, wastage, breakages and spares. By placing your order with us, you confirm that you have added this 10% extra as part of your own calculations and purchase.

Minimum Order

We can sell the paving by the sqm, however, for optimal transit, we recommend ordering a minimum of 5 sqm to ensure proper pallet weight.

Coverage

The coverage for each pack size is available on all products under the ‘Specification’ section. This indicates the area that can be covered, including the recommended joint width. Additionally, we provide the pack size, which indicates the number of slabs included in each pack.

Cut of times

For both standard and premium deliveries, the cutoff time for same-day dispatch is 11 a.m. If you need your order urgently and have missed this cutoff time, please call our team, and we will let you know if there is anything we can do to assist you.

Large Orders

Our website showcases all current promotions and discounts, reflecting our commitment to providing the best prices possible. For larger orders, we invite you to call us at 01329 238150, where our dedicated team may be able to offer additional savings.

Samples

We provide a sample service for all our paving products, allowing you to experience the materials before placing an order. You can find this option at the bottom of each product page or on our dedicated samples page.

Porcelain paving is a man-made product crafted in batches and may exhibit variations in colour and texture from batch to batch. This potential variance means that the porcelain you receive upon ordering may differ slightly from the samples sent, or our showroom displays viewed before making your purchase. To maintain product consistency, we advise against combining different sizes as these will inevitably be different batch codes. It is industry standard to allow an additional 10% on all orders.ย

ย

Should you have any concerns about these variations, please reach out to our sales team for personalised guidance. We recommend keeping note of the โ€˜batch colour codeโ€™ labelled on the packaging of the delivered porcelain. This is a white label of the side of the pallet and also the packing of each individual slab.

ย

While we strive to source the same batch for future orders, this isnโ€™t guaranteed. Therefore, we encourage ordering sufficient quantities initially to maintain uniformity in your project.

**About Our Natural Indian Sandstone**

Consider our high-quality sandstone paving for your propertyโ€™s exterior, whether for a garden patio or a pathway. Its visually appealing design makes it suitable for both modern and traditional styles. Our sandstone comes in the following sizes: single size packs of 600mm x 900mm, 60mm x 600mm and Mixed size Patio Packs.

We offer a diverse range of options, including naturally riven textured surfaces and smooth-honed sandstone, allowing you to align with your unique vision and taste. Sandstone is known for its stunning veining and tonal variation, creating a rich array of colours when slabs are combinedโ€”no two pieces are exactly alike.

Our Natural Finish paving slabs are hand-cut from quarried stone, giving it a textured, riven surface with chiselled edges that add individual character to each piece. Its timeless appeal and durability make sandstone paving a popular choice among homeowners and landscaping professionals across the UK.

The sandstone is calibrated to a thickness of 18mm or 22mm (with a tolerance of ยฑ2-3mm), and features a flat laying side with grooves for easier installation.

**Important Considerations**

All the photos provided are for reference purposes, showcasing the colours, patterns, and tones of the sandstone when the paving has been fully installed. These images may depict the sandstone in various conditions, including when wet, dry, or sealed with an enhanced natural stone sealer. Itโ€™s important to note that sandstone appears more vibrant when wet and lighter in pastel tones when dry. Different lighting conditions may also affect images. We offer a sample service, or you can call our expert team on 01329 238150 for further information.

Please note that sandstone is a natural material sourced from large quarries. While we strive to give an indication of the tones and colours in each pack, we cannot guarantee the exact quantity or variation of each colour, as this may differ from pack to pack.

When the sandstone paving arrives, it may look dusty and pale, with minimal colour variation. It is recommended to unpack the paving and wet it down to reveal the true colour variations. This process will help achieve a random colour effect throughout your patio, avoiding the placement of too many similar tones in one area. Due to its natural composition, you cannot select specific amounts of certain tones; this randomness is the beauty of natural stone.

Sandstone is very porous, and once laid, washed, and jointed, it will begin to weather. This is when the stoneโ€™s colour variations will start to come to life. It is advisable to seal the sandstone paving after a short period. Certain sealers can enhance the colour tone and provide a more โ€œwetโ€ look, while others maintain a natural dry appearance; the choice depends on personal preference.

**Natural Indian Sandstone Paving: A Comprehensive Overview**

Indian Sandstone paving is a popular choice for outdoor landscaping and hardscaping due to its natural beauty, durability, and versatility. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock formed from compressed sand, typically containing quartz and various minerals, which contribute to its characteristic colours and textures. Hereโ€™s why sandstone is commonly used for paving:

1. Aesthetic Appeal

ย Variety of Colours: Sandstone is available in a range of colours, including earthy browns, reds, yellows, soft creams and greys. This variety allows you to select a colour that complements your garden, patio, or driveway.

ย Natural Look: The unique patterns in sandstone slabs create a rustic, organic feel. Each stone is different, giving every paved area its own individual appearance.

2. Durability

Sandstone is a tough and long-lasting material. It can withstand various weather conditions, making it suitable for all climates. While it holds up well in sun, rain, and light frost, it’s essential to properly seal the stone in freezing temperatures to prevent water from seeping in and causing cracks.

ย  ย – It also resists wear and tear, allowing it to handle foot traffic, pets, and occasional vehicle traffic when installed correctly.

3. Textured Surface

Sandstone typically has a textured surface, making it slip-resistantโ€”ideal for paths, patios, and poolside areas where safety is crucial.

4. Low Maintenance

Sandstone paving is relatively low-maintenance. Regular cleaning with a mild detergent and water is usually enough to keep it looking fresh. Although it doesnโ€™t require frequent sealing like some other natural stones, some homeowners choose to apply a sealant to enhance its colour and protect the stone.

Over time, sandstone can develop a natural patina, which many people find attractive as it adds to its character.

5. Cost-Effective

ย While sandstone paving is slightly more expensive than materials like concrete, it is generally more affordable compared to premium stones such as granite or limestone.

6. Eco-Friendly

Being a natural stone, sandstone is a sustainable choice for those looking to reduce their environmental footprint. It requires minimal energy for extraction and is biodegradable when replaced.

7. Popular Applications

ย  ย – Patios & Pathways: Its rustic appearance makes sandstone ideal for garden pathways and patios, seamlessly blending with surrounding plants and landscaping.

ย  ย – Swimming Pools: The slip-resistant surface is particularly beneficial around pools.

ย  ย – Landscaping: Some people use sandstone for retaining walls, steps, or as decorative rock features in gardens.

8. Considerations

ย  ย – Absorption: Some types of sandstone can be porous, meaning they may absorb moisture, oils, and stains. Sealing your sandstone can help mitigate this and maintain its pristine appearance.

ย  ย – Softness: Sandstone is softer than other paving stones like granite, so it can be scratched or chipped more easily. While still durable for most residential uses, it’s advisable to avoid heavy vehicular traffic or high-impact activities.

In summary, sandstone paving is an excellent option if you’re looking for a durable, aesthetically pleasing, and relatively affordable paving solution with a natural appearance. Just be mindful of its maintenance needs and the environment in which itโ€™s installed.

To ensure your project runs smoothly, there are several important considerations to keep in mind when your paving arrives and during its installation.

When your paving order arrives, itโ€™s normal for the slabs to appear dusty and grey. Natural Indian Sandstone is typically very pale and pastel in tone, which can make it look dull and grey, unlike the pictures you see on our website. Donโ€™t worry; this is perfectly normal! To better identify the colours, we recommend wetting down the surface of the slabs before installation. This will enhance the colour variation and help you see the different tones, allowing you to create a more even colour palette throughout your paving area.

Each crate of slabs is randomly selected and may not contain an even colour distribution. Therefore, if you are ordering multiple pallets, we advise taking slabs from each pallet during installation for the best results. As sandstone is very porous, it will absorb moisture, and over time, the colours will become more vibrant.

We also recommend ordering all the paving for the same area at the same time, even if you plan to install it over an extended period. This ensures a good blend of colours. Natural stone is unique and not batch-coded, so any paving purchased later may not come from the same quarry or section of the quarry, leading to noticeable colour variations compared to your existing patio. If you are adding to an existing natural stone patio, please contact us and send us some images. We can help you find a suitable match.

When installing natural stone, it is advisable to use a priming slurry, SBR, or preferably both. These should be applied to the back of the slabs before installation. Apply the SBR to the back of the slab and allow it to dry. This creates a protective barrier that reduces moisture absorption, helping to prevent efflorescence and minimise staining from the base. Additionally, a priming slurry should be applied across the entire underside of the slab to improve adhesion to the base. This ensures full contact, reducing gaps that can cause mirror staining, which appears as white marks on the slab’s surface. Mirror staining is difficult to remove and can be unsightly; using the correct installation techniques will help prevent this from happening.

It is always recommended to invest in quality tools. Ensure that the correct blades are used and that you have an appropriately powered disc cutter, that can be used for cutting natural Stone.

Jointing your patio can be made easier with an all-weather brush-in jointing compound, which offers the same stability as sand and cement. While many products are available on the market, itโ€™s important to note that very dark-colored jointing compounds may cause minor stains on the edges of light-colored stone.

Please avoid using any acid-based products on sandstone or natural stone to remove excess residue from the edges after jointing, as this can damage the paving.

We strongly recommend thoroughly jet washing your paving after installation, but before jointing. Once the jointing has been completed and cured, give the paving another jet wash.

Sealers are recommended for natural stone. There are many options on the market, from natural finish sealers that maintain the original look to colour enhancers that give the paving a more damp appearance, helping to bring out the colour tones. It is important to follow all instructions provided. Natural stone should not be sealed within the first six months with a non-breathable sealer, such as resin sealer (i.e., varnish). If sealing within this period, a breathable sealer for natural stone must be used, as this allows any minerals or salts trapped within the stone to weather and escape naturally.

For more information, please contact us at 01329 238150.

Laying a patio can be messy, so it’s crucial to take care when installing the slabs to avoid any staining, sheet down and board down where possible. If you notice any residue on the slabs during installation, clean it off as soon as possible. Substances like wet cement can be much harder to remove once they dry. Remember, anything that remains on the surface of a slab can seep into the stone and cause stains. Avoid using acid-based products for cleaning.

Natural stone is porous and will absorb liquids from anything left on its surface. Wet leaves, bird droppings, and moss can all create stains, and once these substances penetrate the stone, removing the stains can be very challenging.

It is recommended to seal sandstone paving to help prevent staining. Sealing also prevents excess moisture from building up within the natural stone, which can help avoid frost damage as well as the growth of moss, mould, and algae. You should seal your paving approximately 12 weeks after installation to allow enough time for the drying process to complete. If sealing is done before six to nine months, only a breathable sealer should be used.

As part of the drying process, you may notice efflorescence, which is a white or light grey powdery substance that can appear on the surface of natural stone, especially in damp or humid conditions. This is caused by natural salts and minerals coming to the surface of the slabs. Although it may look unsightly, efflorescence will not affect the structural integrity of the stone. This process usually happens within the first three to six months.

Natural stone requires annual maintenance. Using specific natural stone cleaners and black spot removers can help prolong the life of your patio. Over time, you may need to grind out the joints and redo the jointing to refresh the appearance of the patio.
